These animals come from Indian, Nepal and Pakistan but Texas blackbuck hunting is great because the heat doesn’t bother them. They graze during the day, no matter what the temperature is.

More About Blackbuck Antelopes
Hunted for the males’ ringed spiraling horns, these beauties rank high with exotic trophy hunters. The males’ horns spiral three to four turns, are thick at the base and narrow at the tip. Even though trophy size is 18” inches, the older bucks can sport horns up to 24”.
The females usually don’t have horns and are hunted for their delicious meat and beautiful hide. Males darken as they mature and the dominant male, leader of the females and young bucks, have black coats. Females are beige to light brown. They have white eye rings and white highlights on their undersides and rump.
Blackbuck antelopes weigh between 43 to 144 pounds with an average weight of 83 pounds for bucks and 58 pounds for females. They are 47” in length and 32” tall from the shoulder. Their lifespan is 12 to 16 years old.
