Impala Hunting

Impala hunting is everything you would think it would be. With their well-known speed, these antelopes hailing from East Africa are a hunter’s dream. With one of V-Bharre’s Impala hunting packages, you can save a trip to Africa. Impala have three black stripes on their tail and rump and a reddish-brown coat with brown and white markings. Their ears, eyes, chin, throat and underside are white. Above their back heels, they have black tufts of hair. Male Impalas weigh 117 to 176 pounds and are 30-60 inches high at the shoulder while females range from 88 to 117 pounds and 28 to 34 inches high. Considered a medium-sized antelope with a body length of 4 to 5.3 feet, it’s the muscles in their legs that account for their incredible agility. Impalas are very considerate to each other. In fact, they are the only hoofed animal in the world that will groom each other. Also — and we’re quite sure you want to know this — they have a symbiotic relationship with ox-peckers and tick birds.

Welcome to the world of Impala hunts. Impala can jump more than 10 feet high on the run and up to 33 feet in a single bound. Making it even more difficult to keep up with these supermen exotics, they can make these leaps in almost any direction while turning quickly at the same time. Now you see them, now you don’t! Active during the cooler parts of the day, early morning and later in the afternoon, they move in herds which offer them protection from predators. If you see them raising their tails or barking their raspy roar, you’ve been seen. The male Impala horns are the real exotic trophy since the females don’t have any. The “S”-shaped slender horns, which grow from 18 to 17 inches, are 3 to 4 inches larger than others of the antelope subspecies. So get on your running shoes and book your reservation for one of our Impala hunting packages. You’ll find Impala hunting at our Texas ranch will give you a real “run” for your money!
